The Sunshine State 250 Showdown brings Posts of The American Legion across Florida together to commemorate America’s semiquincentennial, a once in a generation milestone marking 250 years of independence, service, and shared civic responsibility. Through meaningful events leading up to Independence Day 2026, the initiative promotes civic participation, volunteer engagement, and membership growth while strengthening Posts and highlighting their leadership in the communities they serve. Our goal is to ensure that America’s 250th is remembered across Florida as a moment of unity, pride, and active community involvement led by The American Legion.
